Where is SkyPoint?

SkyPoint is situated on Level 77 atop the Q1 Building, one of the World's Tallest Residential Tower's, on the corner of Hamilton Avenue and Surfers Paradise at, 3003 Surfers Paradise Boulevard, Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast.

How high is the viewing platform?

SkyPoint is situated 230m above the ground and is Australia’s only Beachside Observation Deck.

How can I buy tickets to SkyPoint?

Tickets are available online through our website or via our ticket counter located at street level in the SkyPoint Retail Store in the Piazza, on the corner of Surfers Paradise Blvd and Hamilton Avenue.

Do I need to book in advance?

There is no need to book in advance, except for groups and school tours.

When is SkyPoint open?

  • Sunday - Thursday 9am till 9pm. Last tickets sold 45mins before closure.
  • Friday and Saturday 9am till midnight. Last tickets sold 45mins before closure.
  • From 8pm, SkyPoint morphs into SkyPoint Nights on Friday and Saturday Nights, Conditions of entry include: 18+ Photographic ID, strict dress code regulations.
  • Sunset Sounds: Between 4.30pm and 7.30pm as the sun gently sets over the hinterland, SkyPoint is the perfect place to kick back and relax over a bottle of wine and a share platter with friends. Features live acoustic performances and is the perfect way to finish off the weekend.

What can I do at SkyPoint?

The highlight of any visit to SkyPoint is of course the amazing views – you’ll be surprised at how big and beautiful the Gold Coast really is, however a visit is truly memorable when you combine it with a meal from our exciting new menu which features a range of casual dining options to tempt any palette. The breathtaking 360 degree view from Level 77 and 78 are the highlight of any visit to SkyPoint. There are also visual displays to illustrate key points of interest in the region, high power binoculars, a Theaterette featuring “The Birth of Paradise”, and the option to relax and enjoy the view with a bite to eat from our licensed Bar & Café. Our function room on Level 78 is the ultimate events venue available day and night for functions, conferencing and weddings. How many people can go into the lift?

The lift will comfortably accommodate 15 people per flight. It is registered for 26 people.

Where can I park?

50 complimentary visitor car parks are available in the underground carpark below the Q1 Building (subject to availability). NB. Guests will need to register their car details in the SkyPoint lobby whilst waiting for the lift. Entry to the car park is off Hamilton Ave, down the drive way just after the resort drop off area. The car park is 2.3 metres high. The car park is for use only for duration of SkyPoint visit and is open from 8:30am till 10.00pm. Tour buses are welcome to drop passengers off in the Q1 Resort drop-off area via Hamilton Ave. NB. Tour bus drivers are responsible for their own parking requirements.

Is there access for wheelchair/disabled people?

Yes, SkyPoint is fully accessible by wheelchair.

Are there any smoking areas at SkyPoint?

Smoking is not permitted on Level 77 and 78. A designated smoking area is on ground level in the piazza.

What if the weather is bad?

One of the wonderful things about SkyPoint is that on any day, you will still see magnificent view of the Gold Coast region regardless of the weather. Often our Annual Pass holders rush to SkyPoint when a storm is rolling in.

What inspired the Q1 design?

When you visit SkyPoint make sure you see the Olympic torch which inspired the design of SkyPoint.

What is the average time spent at SkyPoint?

When you include time for a bite to eat from our fully functioning commercial kitchen and bar, you can expect a visit to SkyPoint to take up to 2 hours. If you’re just popping up to marvel at the view and learn more about the Gold Coast from our informative exhibits, then a visit will take approximately 30 to 45 mins. Don’t forget to allow time for our ‘Birth of Paradise’ film in the Theatrette which presents the history and rich culture of one of Australia’s most renowned playgrounds – highly recommended!

Is there a restaurant at SkyPoint?

What we do have is a fully functioning kitchen delivering casual dining café style food. For example, Steak Sandwiches, Salt & Pepper Calamari, Chicken Salad, Smoked Salmon, Share Platters, High Tea, Cakes / Slices and the like. We also have a fantastic Bar that delivers all your favourite alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well as a great Cocktail Menu.

Try of signature Cocktail – The ‘Mile High’.

Whilst we aren’t a restaurant as such, you can have a substantial casual dining meal. Kitchen operates 7 days per week, Sunday to Thursday : 11.00am to 7:30pm and Friday to Saturday : 11.00am to 9:30pm.

Is SkyPoint open air?

No, the custom designed viewing deck is fully enclosed by floor to ceiling glass panels, featuring a glass ceiling around the majority of the observation deck.

Are SkyPoint Souvenirs available for purchase?

Yes, there is a dedicated store offering an array of quality souvenirs, located in the piazza.

Is SkyPoint for all ages?

Yes, SkyPoint is for all ages young and old, however after 8pm on Friday and Saturday night’s entry is not permitted for persons under the age of 18 years.

When did SkyPoint open?

SkyPoint was formally known as QDeck and opened in December 2005. The launch of the name change to SkyPoint took place on Tuesday 14th December 2010.
